Christian County, Kentucky
WELCOME TO CHRISTIAN COUNTY
County Clerk
Mike Kem, County Clerk
Mike Kem was elected to the position of County Clerk in 1998.  Prior to County Clerk, he served as a Fiscal Court magistrate for five years representing District 4.

The duties of the county clerk are numerous and varied, falling into the general categories of clerical duties of the fiscal court, the registering of licenses for motor vehicles, recording and keeping records of various legal documents, voter registration, election duties and tax duties.  In all counties, except counties containing a city of the first class, the county clerk has the option of serving as the clerk of the fiscal court.  If the county clerk chooses to serve in this capacity, he is obligated to attend all meetings of the fiscal court and to maintain a complete record of its proceedings, with an index.

His priorities while in office are customer service, accountability and responsibility.  Since taking office, there have been upgrades to the offices within the courthouse and the Deputy Clerks have been equipped with up-to-date computers, which allow them to serve the public more efficiently.  Computers are also available to the public for viewing land records and current marriage licenses.  To improve customer service, the vehicle renewal and transfer departments are now located in seperate offices within the courthouse.  Available also are online renewals and for subscribed customers online research of land records and marriage licenses.

All money transactions of the Clerk's Office are recorded and balanced daily insuring sound business practices and accountability.

As County Clerk the goal is to ensure all needs of Christian County citizens are met promptly and accurately.  The County Clerk and his staff look forward to serving the citizens of Christian County.
