Please fill out the Election Officer application on this page and submit it, or you can print the application HERE and mail it, drop it off in the drop off boxes, email it, or drop it off in the Election Department on the 2nd floor of the courthouse. This application needs to be turned in to our office by Monday September 30, 2024.

Election Officer Duties
- Attend a required training session before the Election.
- Your election day will begin at 5:15, when you report to your voting center.
- Arrange your voting center with all the necessary election materials and voting equipment in a way to ensure privacy for each voter and security in the voting process.
- The voting center must be open by 6:00 am.
- Process voters and provide any assistance.
- Treat every voter with respect and courtesy.
- Close the polling place after the last voter in line at 6:00 pm has voted.
- Complete all necessary paperwork, and return all election materials to the Courthouse.
Qualifications
- You must be a qualified, registered voter in Christian County, Kentucky. If you will be 18 years old on or before the November 5, 2024 General Election, and are registered to vote, you are eligible to serve as an Election Officer.
- If you are not registered to vote, you may Register to Vote prior to the volunteering to serve as an Election Officer.
- You must be willing to work at any voting center within Christian County, KY, where there is a vacancy to be filled. We make every effort to assign you in the vacancy closest to your home at the time of placement.
- You must be able to assist your Election Officers team in setting up and breaking down the voting equipment and setting out supplies. This assistance requires sitting, standing, kneeling, lifting, pushing, and twisting.
- Professional conduct is essential while performing election duties. Refusal to perform all assigned duties in a manner consistent with training, personal policy, and election laws will result in disqualification as an Election Officer.
- You cannot serve if you are a candidate with your name on the ballot.
- You cannot serve if you are the spouse, parent, brother, sister, or child of a candidate who is to be voted for on a ballot.
- You cannot change your party affiliation for one (1) year prior to your appointment as an Election Officer.
- Must be at the voting centers on Election Day by 5:15 AM.
